MUSKOKA LAKES – On Friday, July 17, 2020 the Township of Muskoka Lakes officially enters stage three of its Framework for Reopening the Province. This includes permitting the reopening of all outdoor recreational amenities.
Accordingly, effective immediately, the Township will reopen the remaining permitted outdoor recreational amenities, such as outdoor playgrounds, play structures and equipment.

MUSKOKA LAKES – The Township of Muskoka Lakes has reopened the Windermere Beach and Dock following the receipt of satisfactory test results from water samples taken earlier in the week. Public access to the beach and dock was closed on Sunday, July 12, 2020 due to a small fuel spill from a sunken vessel.
The Canadian Coast Guard, Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit have been notified of the test results.

MUSKOKA LAKES – As part of the municipality’s continuing efforts to support the community, the Township of Muskoka Lakes Council approved a COVID-19 Community Relief Fund Program at their meeting on July 15, 2020.
The intent of the COVID-19 Community Relief Fund Program is to provide direct financial support to non-profit, community-based organizations that provide direct programs, services, events or activities that support community needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fire danger rating is set to MODERATE.
Under a Moderate fire danger rating, small fires and fireworks are permitted, with the exclusion of flying lanterns. Residents are reminded that NO DAYTIME BURNING is allowed and to use extreme caution at all times.
Burn permits will be available for purchase on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Permits are required between April 1 and October 31.
